Industry stalwart Francesco Zonta, Chef Gianluca Marongiu and Manager Richard Trezzi - Enoteca 128 aims to bring the Italian hospitality of the 1980’s to Sydney in 2021. For these Italian natives, the infamous hospitality of their motherland is synonymous with warmth, relaxation, quality and above all, family.

“As an Italian,” says Zonta, “what I learned as a kid was the importance of the quality of food and wine, respect for the product and traceability, and family.

Chef Gianluca Marongiu has crafted a menu that is modern while showcasing respect for traditional Italian flavours. You won’t find pizza or arancini here. “When Italians go out to eat in their hometown, they don’t order Pizza Napolitana or something touristy like that, they seek out interesting new dishes based on the best produce and an innovative approach. That’s what I want to share with our guests.”

 

 

 

Cocktails are my way to be creative… but not forgetting the good old classics

Bar Manager Richard Trezzi’s “New creations usually follow the seasons, so I can source fresh ingredients, but Campari is often present - the reason being, I LOVE IT!” With a wine list that comprises some 250 labels, about half populated by Italian wines, its a selection of Old an d New world favourites.
